The Importance of Dinner

It's post grad life.  You read all these articles about forfeiting 90% of your pay check to loans.  That means no shopping, no vacations, no splurges on the wants versus the needs.  And one more thing, no fabulous dinners. Dear articles, I don't agree with your advice and I happen to love my dinners with my friends in cutesy restaurants.  Doing it every night is not ok.  Once in a while, maybe once a week is perfectly fine.  

The basics.  You want to have girls night.  You could say "hey guys, let's all go over x's house and cook and drink wine."  It's 6:00 pm on a Wednesday and everyone is tired from work, cranky, and hungry.  JUST DO IT.  Pick a restaurant and eat.  Laugh.  Cry.  Be the loudest ones in the restaurant and make people envy how much fun you are having eating and chit-chatting away with your girlfriends.  

The importance of attending dinner.  I mean you can decline and "save money" for your loans, but you need to find some way to stay connected to your friends and what is there not to love about dinners!?  Guys are the exact same way.  Sometimes they need to grab a drink with their buddies to catch up.  Besides, you're in your twenties with no kids yet.  You better enjoy these dinners now while you can with your imaginary babysitter taking care of your imaginary kids and toy poodle dog at home.
